april 2019 newsletter
It’s been a busy few months here at Ross Willsher Photography and a newsletter is well overdue. Here’s a brief overview of what I’ve been up to and the exciting things I have in the pipeline…
Last month I delivered my first workshops at the beautiful Old Park Meadow in Dunmow.
Day one (titled ‘Tech-free Photography Training’) was for photographers of any skill level and focussed on sharing lots of tech-free tips for improving photography using any device (including phones and tablets). We looked at composition, light, and storytelling and it was great to see the improvement in the students’ images in only a matter of hours.
Day two (titled ‘Auto to Awesome’) was for photographers who have DSLR or mirrorless camera but are stuck in automatic mode and want to take more control and become more creative. We talked about aperture, shutter speed and ISO and tried out some fun activities to explore how these impact the look of our photographs.
Feedback from both days was really positive and I’ve already been asked to deliver more workshops. So if you are interested in creating better photographs in a relaxed and friendly environment, look out for more dates coming soon.
The National Wedding Show
I’m really excited about exhibiting for the first time at The National Wedding Show at Excel in London on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of April. It will be the largest wedding show I have done so far and it has been so much fun designing my new display. I’m going to be recreating my vibrant new office for the show and there will be space to view my work, have a chat and sit & chill. There will also be an opportunity to be part of my podcast.
I’m really looking forward to meeting lots of lovely couples throughout the two days and so do pop over to stand A78 and say hello if you are coming to the show.
If you are engaged or know any couples currently planning their special day, I have a few pairs of complimentary tickets still available so do email firstname.lastname@example.org and I can help you gain free entry.
One Year as Published Author
I really cannot believe that it has been a year since I published my book ‘How to have a wedding as individual as you are’. I’m still incredibly proud of this achievement and of creating a resource for wedding planning based upon my own unique story and experiences.
The reviews and feedback has been so positive and, whilst there is a lot I learned from the process and there are a few things I would change if writing the book again, the overall message of being true to yourself and your values when planning your wedding is something I still very much advocate.
This will definitely not be the last book that I publish. In fact, I am currently in the initial stages of planning my next book so watch this space!
In the meantime ‘How to have a wedding as individual as you are’ is still available to purchase HERE.
That’s just a very brief overview of what I have been up to (aside from booking lots of lovely weddings with fantastic couples of course) and I will update you all with more exciting plans in next month’s newsletter.
Have a great month!
